If you have an interest in renewable ocean
energy, Ocean Wave Energy Company invites
your free subscription to OWECO News. This
occasional email provides information on
company activities, wave energy conversion
technology, and water and hydrogen cycling.
OWECO Outsights focus upon related
environmental issues and opinions.
January 2012-
The
Worldwide
Universities Network Research Mobility
Program is investigating
approaches for controlling global climate
with solar radiation management.
Participants
cost-compared techniques, such as using
reflecting aerosal particles in Earth's
upper atmosphere with carbon dioxide
reduction, and their effects on sea level
rise. Basic models do not yet include
several factors and currently seem an
expensive fantasy relative to more direct
water management practices.
September/October 2011- Foerd was session
chair and presented OWECO technology to
receptive audiences at South Korea and China
seminars. This region, including inland,
comprises over one third world population.
August 2011- Updated generator, ballast, and
control elements were incorporated
in the module design.
June 2011- Refined OWEB Map revisions
utilized additional global wave reporting
data.
October 2010-
OWECO presentation was featured at "Wave Energy in the Mediterranean" Seminar in Kalkara, Malta.
About 7% world population is proximate to the Mediterranean Sea and practical wave energy conversion could start with its islands.
In preparation, seasonally adjusted wave energy increase was
noted in comparison with
2005 Sicily presentation
assessment. Between the largest wave tank and
very energetic ocean waves,
such as at UK's Wavehub device testing facility,
the Mediterranean may become a "WEC test bed", or "nursery". As well as providing power,
data from demonstrably proven WEC wave energy converters
helps advance proof-of-concept. This approach may reduce
error cost before full-on
oceandustrial deployments.
June 2010- OWECO is pleased to announce its acceptance into the Environmental Business Cluster of the Autodesk Clean Tech Partner Program. Autodesk, a leading provider of superior design and analysis software, recognizes a critical need and contributes toward efficient solutions in the renewable energy space. Its timely and focused initiative enables small businesses, such as OWECO, to virtually refine products before construction thereby saving time and materials waste. Thank you, Autodesk! |
